The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, directed by Julia Armstrong

We join Tom Wingfield as he recalls memories of his family. His mother, Amanda, having been abandoned by her husband 16 years ago is trying to raise her children against all odds. Her daughter Laura is crippled, and mentally ill-equipped to take on the world. Tom is the sole breadwinner, working in a warehouse, although he is an aspiring writer and poet.

Tom is desperate to escape and make his own way in the world. Amanda is looking to find her daughter a husband, but finds that her hopes are ultimately dashed.
