We're pleased to once again welcome Opera Nova to the Theatre Upstairs, with their 2010 concert season, Love, Sex & Death. The common plot line for this semi-staged concert  goes across the operatic repertoire, and is one which audiences will thoroughly enjoy.

The bad girls and boys of opera show their wicked streaks as well as their romantic sides in excerpts from Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), the Coronation of Poppea (Monteverdi), Flight (a modern opera by Jonathan Dove), Bizet's Carmen. In part two, extended highlights from Verdi's Macbeth bring stirring choruses to life and the epitome of true evil in Lady Macbeth with the stunning Sleepwalking aria.

Simply set and costumed, Opera Nova want audiences to enjoy some of the finest music in the operatic repertoire and tantalise people new to opera, to experience its emotion and thrill.

Musical Director, Richard Bloodworth and accompanist Alison Gill steer the company through a wide range of styles to bring you an evening full of excitement and thrills with Love, Sex and Death.

Tickets are available direct from Opera Nova.
